Hello fellow bloggers

So who is Team Newlywed and what are they doing?

Introducing Nik Phillips, Groom (Stag pose)  - Navigator & Diver for Team 27

Well it's my first ever blog and I'm excited. I've joined this weird world to share our adventures as Team Newlywed (Nik, Gem and Craig) as we take on The Windy 500 www.windy500.co.uk/ . We are entered as team 27 (the date of Nik and Gem's wedding) and even though its not until June 2013 there is a journey to embark on before we we get married on the 27th of April 2013 leading to our Transeuropean adventure honeymoon in the June. There will be no luxury beach holidays for us as we have both had a dream and The Windy 500 gives us an opportunity to become Jeremy, James and Richard (but I'm not sure who is who).

Introducing Craig, Usher -Mechanic & Driver for Team 27

We are theming our journey around our wedding and Nik and I plan to dress appropriately and Craig as bridesmaid maybe, not so sure he will agree! We have our vehicle to find and it must cost less than £500, wedding themed of course. We have considered many but we wan't some space as there is 3 of us and a bit of comfort as its 23 nights but it has to say "english wedding". One obvious choice of course is a Bentley but an unlikely find at under £500, if anyone comes across one please let us know. A serious contender is a long wheel base Jag. Fuel costs are an issue but we are prepared to compensate for the write vehicle. A couple of Windy goers have their modes of transport and so far there is a mini and a VW camper.

Gemma Dobbs, Bride to be  -  Photographer, Blogger & Camp organiser for Team 27

We plan to keep you updated, me as blogger and photographer (anything to keep me from navigation), Nik as driver and navigator, Craig as driver and roadside repairer and the rest we will share. We're good mates already but what's great is by the end of the Windy we will have a whole bunch more like minded mad people to call our friends. There is a serious side to raising money for charity and we have chosen Julias House the childrens Hospice and The Air Ambulance. We will need your help so we plan to use our blog to tell you about the charity events we plan to hold and we hope you can help us in our journey.

Bye, bye for now x

Our Team has entered the Windy 500, a journey within europe through 23 countries in 23 nights and all in a car for less than £500.  Team Newlywed is in and we even got entry number 27, the date we marry! Yes, this is our honeymoon, there will be no laying by a beach for us being treated to luxuary we have waved goodbye to all that in search of an adventure with our mate Craig and what we hope will become a whole bunch of new friends with like minded mad minds.
